Our Fishing Adventure

 Our Fishing Adventure.

The year started nicely in Kefalonia, the island where i moved for a year...Great weather, no rain and not too much cold. So what was better than going fishing with friends this Sunday? It was an early Sunday morning when my phone buzzed with an enthusiastic text from Lambros: "The weather is great! Meet me at the Cruise Ship Dock in an hour.Ready to catch something big? " I didn't think much at the time, just got ready and left the house.

There's something really nice about waking up and being able to do soooo many fun stuff in nature.
Fishing has been one of my favorite activities since i was young. I used to do it with my dad almost every day.We still go, but, with school i don't have much time. Now i do it with my friends. We are actually really good at it.We've learned many stuff which are useful for us to catch more stuff.

This time was a bit different...When i got there Lambros had already started fishing with his rod. He had brought us sandwiches and some orange juice. We had a 10 minutes break to eat something and then decided to continue fishing. OMG! I turn to get my rod and accidentally throw it in the water...I couldn't believe my eyes..I know i said weather was good  BUT IT IS STILL FEBRUARY!the water was FREEZING COLD!

After a lot of thought i decided to dive in a catch it.Not a single thought in my mind about how cold i would be when i get out of the water. The only thing a was thinking about was my ROD. The water wasn't that deep so i managed to reach it...Not to be dramatic but when i got off the water with my soaking wet clothes and hair i actually felt i could turn into a literal ice cube.I mean, we've all experienced something alike, right...?

I immediately called my mum to come get me so i wouldn't catch a cold.I did not achieve that.It has been 4 days and i haven't stopped coughing...Wish me luck! The only good thing we got out of this story was that Lambros actually caught two (2) big fishes that day!

Next time i go fishing i'll be more careful, and you should be too.Trust me, you don't want to be diving on freezing cold water! Look at the bright side, we grilled the fishes the next day and they were delicious!
